It's been a long haul to get to this day! 

We started about 4yrs ago with this little girl! We've been through 3 Oregon case workers, 2 Missouri case workers, 2 Virginia case workers, 1 Casa worker, 2 Lawyers, and 1 Judge. We have spent many hrs getting certified and have taken the most stupid classes with some of the most incompetent people ever, while in MO. We have had to have background checks done in OR, MO, and VA. We have had home visits every months for the last 3yrs. We have sat in on a million (or it seems) court hearings. We have cried happy and frustrating tears. Now we are D>O>N>E.......We have been very blessed and very happy to have Chevelle AKA Chelle (you say it like Shelly) as part of our family! She brings energy and spunk to our lives. She has had to deal with many trials as a little one. She seems to be more like a teen rather than a 6yr old. I'm guessing she has dealt with some pretty big issues before the age of 4. (she came to us right before she turned 4)

In the 3yrs that she has been with us, we have seen many wonderful changes in her. She has loosened up and let us all in. She loves to be snuggled now. She used to freak out and hyperventilate if you hugged her. She loves her sister too. Those girls are nuts. They fight like cats and dogs and then they get along the next min soooo very well. She used to not sleep in her room. Now we can put her to bed most nights and read her a book and tuck her in and she will stay....maybe a few min lol but she stays. She usually falls asleep in our bed and we transfer her to hers. 

I don't know why I sometimes feel like I am cursed because I can't have children. However, when I look at the two beautiful girls that I have been blessed with I am able to find peace. I love being a mom and I am grateful for the opportunity to raise these girls. I don't take this lightly. Everyday is a new day and I wake up and give them hugs and snuggles before we start our day. No matter what the previous day was like!!!!
